Theatre is a living medium; it evolves with every production and audience. Each production allows for new and multi-faceted interpretations both of characters we think we understand and of actors whose work we think we know. We’re always interested in seeing what a great actress will bring to a great female role. But as anyone reading this probably knows—or anyone who pays attention to the entertainment industry—actresses are constantly typecast, which we believe is hugely detrimental to the theatre. With that in mind, we paired photographer Sarah Hiatt with actress Erin Davie, whom we previously interviewed on Coney Island, and sent them off to do a reimagining of the classic and layered Hedda Gabler.
Erin wears a dress by Tom Ford, blouse by Valentino, and pants by Yves Saint Laurent.
